Alienware turns its Area-51 m15x gaming notebook with the Quadro FX 3600M into a powerful 3D modeling workstation. The Quadro FX 3600M is one of Nvidia’s top-end 3D chipsets and the Area-51 m15x is the very first 15.4-inch laptop with that graphics chip aboard. Rendering 3D effects, CAD, DirectX 10 or OpenGL 2.1 is said to be highly boosted with that gfx chip.

If you want that killer FX 3600M in your Area-51 m15x, well then you have to add extra $600 to the base with $1.499. The recommended system by Alienware has a price tag of $3.445 and includes a 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo, a high-resolution 1920×1200 LCD, 4 GByte RAM and a 250 GByte HDD. Notebooks equipped with that upgrade are said to start shipping in August 5th.
